Mr. Shane’s is located in the Best Western Hunt’s Landing in Matamoras. It serves comfort food and elevated bar cuisine, whatever that is.
The menu is pretty basic, and starts with apps that include wings, Little Neck clams, chicken fingers, and calamari. They’ve got steak sandwiches and chiken schnitzel, and flatbread pizzas.
Entrees include a smothered pork chops, meatloaf, a NY strip, and bourbon-glazed salmon. here’s where it gets interesting: specials include burrata with red pear, salmon and crab in pastry, braised pork shank, Beaverkill trout, and a raw bar selection. Go figure.
It actually seems to be a decent place to grab a bite, which is odd for a country hotel’s restaurant, but, hey.
“My crew and I have eaten here more times than I can count. Service and drinks are top notch, but if you’re not ordering off the specials menu you are missing out. Shane is down to earth, and he’s there every time I’ve been there. Would highly recommend. Hidden gem.”
