Lanis’s Grilled Cheese Shop serves all kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches, including jerk chicken and pastrami. Vegan grilled sandwiches, too. Homemade soups and salads. Perfect grab ‘n go just a mile from East Stroudsburg University.

They’ve moved, and now share a space with Fat Mikey’s Cheese Steaks, just down the street.

Lani’s Grilled Cheese shop started as a “crazy” idea in New York City at the time owner Jelani Douglas, a graduate of East Stroudsburg South, was studying at Johnson & Wales and knew one day he wanted to run his own restaurant.

While working as a prep cook, line cook, and section manager at a local resort,t Jelani learned everything about running a restaurant. He saw the opportunity to start a new restaurant offering a classic comfort food with a modern twist in the Pocono Mountains.
