Babousa is the creation for two grandmothers. One southern from Kentucky, one Lebanese from Choueifat. She spent her childhood eating kibbe and biscuits with cream gravy. When these cultures merge, something unexpected, joyful, and delicious happens! They’re brand new at the beginning of Summer 2024, so keep an eye out for things to come. We’ll cover it here.
Local eggs, cheese, bread, meat. Local seasonal vegetables and fruits, that’s what they’re into. Beverages include drip coffee, espresso, cold brew, matcha, teas, and Persian Majoon, a blended drink of dates, pistachios, nuts, and banana.
Breakfast includes a breakfast burrito, croissant ham sandwich (with eggs and bread from Balthazar), a Lebanese egg sandwich on pita, and an herby Persian frittata with salad called Sabzi Kuku.
Brunch adds a falafel salad, Fattoush salad, banana fritters, a burger, and grits with Kofta which are handmade meatballs.
The kid’s menu is a chicken sandwich, a fried egg and cheddar on a croissant, and a falafel and cucumber salad.
“What a special spot! Each dish that we had was more impressive than the next. The food is high quality, consistent and artfully designed both in appearance and flavor. The concept is creative and you can tell that everything that they do comes from the heart. The location is charming, beautiful and welcoming. We also had a great time with the sweet and friendly staff. If you are looking for a satisfying and delicious meal and experience you should definitely visit Basbousa!”
