Don Pedro’s Cafe & Pizza

Don Pedro’s Cafe & Pizza makes Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban dishes, along with good ol’ American pizza pie.

There’s a pretty large menu that includes empanadas, gazpacho de bacalao, mofonogo with chicken, shrimp, pernil, or ropa vieja. Sides include plantains, tostones, and sweet potato casserole.

Entrees include pork ribs, steak Palomilla, pork belly chicharon, oxtail, and red snapper.

They also sell 20 flavors of the fantastic ice cream by Llama Ice Cream of Minisink Hills.

“Awesome place. Very friendly mom and pop style. Ordered Chicken Mofongo that was excellent. Wife ordered 1/4 baked chicken with rice and beans-very good flavor. Our son ordered chicken and beef empenadas and they were very fresh. We also had their plantains which were amazing! Portions are great for what you pay. After speaking with the owner I can tell they put their heart into what they do here. Everything is fresh, never frozen. Everything from their hot sauces to their pickles are made on-premise. They also bye their meats local and prepare everything the day of if not right when you order. I noticed someone ordered a Cuban sandwich, which I almost got too, when we were leaving it was brought to their table and looked REALLY good! I would highly recommend them. Authentic food for sure!”
