“Parking is free, and the visitor center has restrooms and a gift shop. The walk from the parking lot to Silverthread is very short. It’s an easy walk on the boardwalk through the woods, much like the boardwalk in Muir Woods in California. The boardwalk continues through the forest and to Dingmans Falls, which are large and loud. There’s a viewpoint near the falls, but there are also stairs that will take you to the top. It’s a short hike for such an impressive force of nature.”
