Lake Wanoka Resort & Campground

Lake Wanoka Resort & Campground is a low-key, lakeside campground just 6 miles from Honesdale and 15 miles from Lake Wallenpaupack. This pet-friendly campground calls itself a resort because it offers so many amenities, including a splash pad and water park, a natural swimming pond, a playground and an arcade, and a kid’s pool.

They have a general store, the on-premises eatery K.C. Pepper Bar & Grill, and a snack bar/burger restaurant.

RV sites and tent sites are available. Interested in tent camping but don’t have any gear? Rent a tent site with a tent, air mattress, linens, picnic table, and a stocked fire pit. Don’t have an RV or Camper but want to camp in one? Rent an on-site RV that is fully hooked up and furnished.

Rustic wood cabins are adorable, and some offer fireplaces, bunk beds, kitchenettes, and whirlpool or soaking tubs. All cabins have TV and complimentary WiFi access. Towels and linens are included in all cabins. Cookware and dishes included in the cabins with kitchens.

“We stayed in the queen cabin and it was freaking adorable. We loved the jetted tub in the bathroom and firepit outside. The cabin was extremely clean and cozy. The rocking chairs on the front porch were an amazing touch. And the best part about it is that it’s pet-friendly. My dog had a great time smelling all of the new smells and exploring. Visitors can let their kids run free at the playground or take the family on a hike. The resort has over 150 acres of trails to be conquered, and is located just 10 miles from the 420-acre Varden Conservation Area, a great place for the birding, hiking, and wildlife watching. When you need a snack or flashlight, head over to the general store, but save your appetite to dine at the KC Pepper Bar and Grille, located right on the premises.
