Devil’s Hole Trail is a 3.1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail that features beautiful wildflowers in a thick hillside forest. It’s located on state game lands off Devil’s Hole Road in Paradise Valley.
The trail is considered to be of moderate difficulty. Be wary and make sure you map your route: the 3.1-mile hike is unmarked. Due to multiple stream crossings, proper footwear is highly recommended.
The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking, best used from April until October.
The trail leads along Devil’s Hole Creek which boasts small and beautiful waterfalls. Keep going and you’ll come to the crumbling walls and ornate fireplaces at Devil’s Hole Ruins. The ruins are of a 1910 sanitariun and display beautiful stonework and fireplaces.
It’s an excellent hike, but the trail has no markers. The trail crosses the creek multiple times, so wear shoes that can get wet! There are lots of stream crossings with mid-shin water height.
The 52-acre Fieldstone Farm is part of the Pocono Heritage Land Trust. The farmland is hikeable and boasts a few great fishing spots. There’s a brown trout stream in the area that has some pretty good fishing.
Parking is available in the State Game Lands lot off of Devil’s Hole Road.
