Riverside Cafe is located in Roscoe, aka Trout Town USA, on the Beaverkill River and yes, they serve fresh-caught trout. The menu is simple and appealing and there are daily specials. It’s a restaurant in a tiny town, but it’s owner/chef has a degree from the Culinary Institute of America, and people love the place.
The menu includes trout, of course. Try some ribs, sweet corn polenta, pan-seared duck breast, a dry-aged ribeye or porterhouse steak, pork schnitzel, or one of the daily special pastas,
“Last night was our first visit, and we were very happy with our experience. The Staff was very friendly, fast and helpful. We ordered wine, shrimp cocktail, and duck breast. They provide a large bowl of salad for the table, a fun, homey experience, and wonderful, warm bread. The shrimp were enormous and delicious. The duck breast, served with absolutely heavenly mashed potatoes and a sauce that was to die for. And the duck…absolutely mouthwatering, cooked to perfection, with a small hint of crispy skin left on, cooked to cracklings. The bill was around $125 for the two of us, well worth it, and we ordered some of the most expensive menu items. Finally, all of it with the view of the historic Beaverkill. Very pleased, and highly recommend you try it on your next trip up.”
