River House Getaway hosts 8 guests in 4 bedrooms with 4 beds and 4 baths. It’s located in beautiful Shohola, a village that was settled in 1772, with 2 stars that represent peace and tranquility. Shohola is a Native American name meaning “place of peace.”
This magnificent property is on four acres of lush woodland and boasts over 1000 ft of private riverfront. It’s a perfect Delaware River visit.
The den offers a wood burning stove and access to an enormous deck overlooking the river. It’s a perfect place to watch Bald Eagles, wildlife, and river floaters. In the winter, when the river freezes, it is spectacular. BBQ on a large Weber grill.
One of the most magnificent experiences in this house is when “weather” happens. You’ll see rain, lightning & hail storms, snow blizzards, or a shower of leaves during the Fall. Trees fall (amazing to hear & see), and the power can go out. But they do have a full system generator that will automatically kick on.
The property is perfect for kayaking, fishing, swimming, and snorkeling. Follow the path down to the boathouse, and you will find three kayaks, tubes, a river raft, life vests, and everything you will need for the river.
In addition to a hot tub, two decks, two covered patios, a screened-in porch, and a fire pit, there are quiet sitting nooks all around the property. It’s on on the Delaware River on the PA side. Swim across the river and land on the shores of Barryville. It’s located near numerous small quaint towns, Sullivan County’s Narrowsburg, Cochecton, Callicoon, Honesdale, and Milford.
“Mark’s home was beautiful and serene. Could not have asked for a better location for my friends and I to just “get away” and enjoy the weekend together. Mark was very proactive and responded within mins for any questions that I had. Check-out for this location was the most seamless I’ve ever had at an Airbnb. Highly recommended! And thank you again Mark for everything!”
