Shawnee Mountain Ski Area features 125 skiable acres, 23 trails, the Tomahawk Express high-speed quad lift, 100% snowmaking, and daily grooming. Summit elevation is 1,350 feet and the vertical elevation change is 700 feet.
As of 2023, Min Monster is open. It’s a play area for kids up to the age of 8 who are too young for tubing or skiing. There’s a snowball wall, puzzle blocks, and balancers and gliders.
Shawnee Mountain Ski Area was developed by Pocono maven Karl Hope with the help of 1968 Winter Olympic alpine ski champion Jean-Claude Killy.
Included in their setup are two terrain parks and a snow tubing park for the kids. The family-friendly ski spot offers great options for beginners and kids alike. Plus, 100% snowmaking means there’s always snow on the ground!
The season lasts roughly from December through March, but check with them as early as late November to see if they’re open.
5 eateries offer breakfast, lunch, and early dinner, with full-service and limited-service bars. Catch a casual after-ski time at Shawnee’s Gem and Keystone Brewpub.
“Great mountain, great trails. Everything you need’s in one spot. Ample parking, but I suggest arriving early or you’ll be doing some walking. Lines move quick, snow tubing, and night skiing. Lessons for beginners or the little ones. Rentals are available.”
