The 63-acre Yankee Run Nature Preserve was acquired in 2011, funded by the Monroe County Open Space Program, and a grant from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The preserve provides crucial protections for the headwaters of Yankee Run, a high-quality headwater to Paradise Creek.
The Pocono Heritage Land Trust manages this pristine property. Yankee Run Nature Preserve contains a habitat mix of woodlands, springs, ponds, and a headwater stream. The preserve also harbors local heritage, including a springhouse, a historic pumphouse, and an artificial pond.
Take a hike through the preserve. Along the way, you’ll pass the remains of the historic springhouse and pumphouse along the stream.
Yankee Run and its two ponds are also great spots for fishing.
Additional parking is available on the west side of Devil’s Hole Road, just north of Rt 940.
