Deer Meadows is a spacious, timeless lodge in the heart of the bucolic southern Catskills, located 2 hours from NYC. It sleeps 6 people with 3 bedrooms and 3 en-suite baths. You can Bring Fido, too!
Set on 15 private acres, the house has gorgeous farmland views. The house features a high-end kitchen, a hot tub, fire pit, and luxurious amenities.
A pretty backroad leads to this delightful shingled home, set on pleasing fifteen acre parcel that includes a mature woodland, and sprawling meadows ringed in stonewalls.
An open plan sitting room with television flows comfortably to the chef’s kitchen, where there is plenty of counter space, and the appliances are all new as per the home’s recent makeover. Around the corner from the kitchen is a cozy dining nook with built-in banquette, perfect for family dinners, puzzles and late night chats.
The first guest room is just off the living room, and has a queen bed. The large, modernized bathroom across the hall has a shower/tub.
At the upstairs landing there is an airy lounge with TV followed by a corridor that leads to the two en suite guest rooms. One is a queen, one is a king and both bathrooms have beautiful, tiled, walk-in showers with modern finishes. An upstairs deck runs outside both bedrooms, each of which have glass sliders to the to this peaceful space. Grab a rocker and listen to the birdsong or breeze through a few chapters on that book you keep meaning to finish.
Back outside, a generous common space is just begging you to grill, to hot tub, to philosophize around the fire pit all night. And in the morning, follow the path up to acres upon acres of open meadows.
Have overflow guests? Checkout Journey’s End, another fabulous Red Cottage Inc. rental that is just steps down the treelined road next door and sleeps another six guests.
Aside from being an excellent jumping off point for hiking, fishing and other upstate explorations, Deer Meadows is also conveniently located near Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the iconic setting of the original Woodstock festival.
