Timber Lake West provides a co-ed camp experience with two distinct 4-week sessions. West is the perfect stepping stone for first time campers – their family atmosphere and shorter session make the transition to resident camp easy for campers and parents alike.
Two periods each day are devoted to swimming and water sports. Emphasis is on safety, instruction and fun. Experienced Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides special attention to improving swim skills with the main emphasis on safety. Timber Lake West’s two heated Olympic-sized pools make free swim a favorite activity, while their spring-fed lake provides water-skiing and an extensive boating program. There’s instruction in canoeing, kayaking, row boating, surf bikes, paddle bikes, and banana boating. Campers also enjoy bouncing on an inflatable obstacle course complete with a water trampoline and numerous inflatable slides.
Campers live in modern, paneled cabins. Each bunk is equipped with full bathrooms and storage space. Meals are served 3 times a day plus treats. They cater to most dietary restirctions and allergies. They also cater to campers who are kosher or vegetarian.
The camp athletic program includes clinics, instruction, inter-camp tournaments, and plenty of games played just for fun. They create the right balance between competition and good sportsmanship, allowing every camper to be comfortable joining in, while also promoting teamwork and spirit. There’s basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, lacrosse, golf, volleyball, and more.
Their Electives include two activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure oriented, and performing or creative arts. Combined with scheduled sports and waterfront activities, the Elective periods allow campers to customize their summer program. With over thirty activities to choose from, our extensive electives feature experienced teachers and coaches to ensure that campers get the highest quality of instruction in the areas of their greatest interest.
Timber Lake West is just over 2 hours northwest of New York City and 3 hours from Philadelphia. Their camp family is made up of six summer camps, which include the Pocono Mountain’s Tyler Hill Camp, a day school, and their foundation.
