Fern Cove

Fern Cove hosts 8 guests in 4 bedrooms with 7 beds and 2 baths, brought to you by Superhost Catskill. It’s a cedar-shingled lakefront cabin that’s a hand-built charmer — literally. A family of 6 built it themselves from 1970-73. Nestled into a hillside overlooking a serene, fern-lined cove, the property is tucked away and absolutely magical.

They fell head-over-heels in love with this place and spend lots of time there. If you’re looking for a rustic 70s cabin with a touch of modern on a quiet lake where children can run free and adults can get away from it all, you’ve found it.

Outside, there’s a stone campfire ring with Adirondack chairs set under some shady trees, a newly re-planked cedar dock, and plenty of privacy (ours is a double lot near the end of a dirt road, with a quiet neighbor one one side and undeveloped woodland on the other). The native ferns and blueberry bushes set the scene and create an unspoiled setting.

The water is shallow in this cove and absolutely pristine. It’s on Lake Muskoday, a quiet community primarily comprised of log cabins, cottages, and bungalows. A vibrant and well-tended ecosystem of aquatic plants and other pond life keep it that way. They’ve been catching bass, trout, perch, and pike right from the shoreline. Sit on our dock and read a book or wade right in. It’s in the Trout Town USA of Roscoe, so get fishing!
