Resica Falls Scout Reservation is 4200 acres owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America. This seemingly endless track of mountain trails, clear streams, and waterfalls has formed the basis of a program of activities for summer camp for over 50 years. Big Bushkill Creek runs through the camp and also runs into neighbor camps. The camp is built around, and gets its name from the 45-foot waterfall on the property.
27-acre Lake Roger is a 27-acre spring lake where Scouts can fish, canoe, kayak, sale, and row, along with a three-story water slide. There’s a Wibit Aquapark with features like the trampoline and the blob.
The STEM program at Resica Falls is ever-growing with a multitude of merit badges offered in the Great Bend. Drone racing and virtual reality help round the science and technology program that started as a big dream in a little shack over a decade ago.
For campers 13 and over, there’s the High Five Adventure Club each afternoon. Possible excursions include ahike to Look Out Point and a swim at Fossil Rock, an afternoon of shooting muzzle loaders, shotguns, sporting arrows, and action archery, and an adventure that takes you to all three sets of falls on the reservation – Resica Falls, Little Falls, and Green Falls.
A full complement of shooting activities are offered at multiple ranges, including shotgun, rifle, Cowboy Action shooting, chalkball, archery, action archery, sporting arrows, and tomahawks. Their certified instructors work hand-in-hand with Scouts to ensure they learn to shoot in a safe manner during badges, open shoots, and scheduled troop shoots.
