Established in 1977, Camp Lavi is a Modern Orthodox co-ed sleep away camp where meaningful friendships begin. It’s located 2 1/2 hours from NYC.
For many, the beginning and ending of Shabbat at Lavi is worth the price of admission. With the campers dancing in the playhouse during Kabbalat Shabbat, and the entire camp singing arm-in-arm during Saturday night’s ebbing, inspiring and emotional memories are imprinted in campers’ and staff members’ minds alike for a very long time.
“Summer camp is a unique and special place where children make lasting friendships, experience new activities, collect a lifetime of memories and develop a greater sense of self-confidence. It’s a place where kids grow emotionally and become more independent. It’s a place to develop social skills and resilience. Summer camp gives children the opportunity to become part of a second family – their camp family. And Camp Lavi has provided this experience for our campers and their families for more than forty years.
The Lavi Family is all about community. Each day we strive to remind and instill in our campers, the importance of unity as well as our mission of Bein Adam L’Chaveroh (respect for our fellow man).”
Sports include water sports on private Lake Lavi, athletics, including basketball, flag football, soccer, baseball, tennis, volleyball, and mini golf. Water sports include boating, the Wibit Waterpark, fishing, and kayaking.
Adventure means a rope course, dune buggies, paintball, gymnastics, bungee trampoline, and nature activities.
“Home to the Happiest Campers. We have a little problem… our son has made it clear that he ‘doesn’t want to come home!’. We are thrilled, and are not surprised. This letter we are holding would make quite a spectacular PR piece for camp!”
