Willowemoc Wild Forest contains more than 14,800 acres of Forever Wild Forest Preserve and is a part of New York State’s beautiful state park, Catskill Park. A 40-mile trail network provides access to six ponds, and a world-class trout stream, the Willowemoc. Although hilly, the terrain is not as rugged as the Catskill High Peaks. The Willowemoc Wild Forest has the most expansive snowmobile system in the Catskills.
It’s a forest preserve in Catskill Park with 40 miles of trails, fishing ponds, campsites, and winter sports.
There’s easy access to the majority of the trails from the Livingston Manor area. Explore approximately 40 miles of trails, including 15 miles that are just for hiking. With different loops and hilly terrain, the Forest offers trails for varying levels of hikers, and it’s perfect for beginner winter hikers.
You will not find large crowds or overused trails, but you will find quiet solitude, interesting hiking opportunities, and thousands of acres of forest to explore.
