North Branch Food Mart

North Branch Food Mart is attached to a gas station. They urge you to “Try our famous Johnny Bootlegger, Johnny Rib, and NY pastrami sandwiches.” They also have a selection of beer, cold cuts, sodas, snacks, ice cream, dairy, candy, cigs, propane, gas, diesel, kerosene, and “a lot more stuff.”

“This neat country store is on a little side road within sight of Rt. 122 a/k/a Gulf Road, which is between North Branch and Callicoon Center. It’s not fancy or hoity-toity. It is very well stocked and run by a congenial gentleman who lives with his family in an adjacent building and is always helpful and nice.

It is crammed with pretty much every available item, both foodstuffs, and even some hardware, and there is a deli counter where you can buy a sandwich. There is a gas pump outside, as well as a picnic table if you want to eat your breakfast or lunch. There is an ATM, which is a very important thing to have as there is no other ATM within miles.”
