ForEvergreen Nature Preserve is a part of the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center. Brodhead Watershed Association and Pocono Heritage Land Trust have partnered with Stroud Township in a successful public-private partnership to make ForEvergreen Nature Preserve in Analomink a natural hub of community life that connects people, water, and land.
The one-mile loop trail is smooth gravel with very slight inclines. Mowed, grassy trails crisscross the central meadow. Walk among tall white pines and along the bank of the creek and connect with nature. Activities include walking, running, photography, and catch-and-release fly fishing with license. A bald eagle’s nest perches in a tree close to the property.
Once known as Evergreen Park Golf Course, owned by the historic Penn Hills Resort of the Poconos, this beautiful park has been reclaimed and transformed for the benefit of nature and the community. Restored to a natural state, ForEvergreen Nature Preserve now serves as a diverse habitat for wildlife, a source of protection for land and water quality, and a favorite place for fishing, birding, or enjoying a peaceful walk along the paths.
Fly-fishing is permitted with a license, so grab yours here!
Bring Fido! A leash is required.
“A quiet and hidden gem for those of you looking for easy access to nature. Clean cinder walking trails circle this retired gold course turned into a nature preserve. Several grass walking paths take you through the center if you’re looking to explore a bit of nature. There are a few park benches to sit at around the outer pathway. A small elevation change on one side, tall grasses, wooded sections, river access and an eagle’s nest!”
