Yasgur Road Campground is dedicated to preserving the spirit of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Festival. They don’t aspire to recreate an event that defined a generation, but rather the concept of peaceful, communal coexistence.
Max Yasgur, a dairy farmer from Bethel, NY and his wife, Miriam, unwittingly became the hosts of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Festival when four young men approached them with the idea. Initially, attendance was estimated at 40,000 per day. However, a war weary generation, tired of violence and injustice, came together, one-half million strong, to prove that people really love each other.
Camping is done on RV full-hookup sites or on tent sites in the field.
The Yasgur Road Campground is located on the 100-acre homestead of Max Yasgur, the farmer who allowed Woodstock to happen. The Yasgur Road Campground is open seasonally from Mid-May to Mid October. Check-in is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Check-out is at sunset.
“Truly a beautiful historic location. The former home of Max Yasgur this campground is not a corporate experience but a family one. When you are greeted with welcome home you know that they mean it.”
“Yasgur’s is pure magic. To be submersed with such a rich and beautiful history as well as dance all night in the middle of the lit up woods is truly what you can expect to happen when you stay here. Shuttles back and forth to the concerts up the road at Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center, friendly people who become family once you experience Yasgur’s, vendors along the road that takes you past a small stage with great artists and SO MUCH MORE. Clean showers and bathrooms!”
Highly recommend and cannot say enough about this special special piece of land.”
