The 1,445-acre Lackawanna State Park is in northeastern Pennsylvania, and you can Bring Fido! Fox Run and Maple Lane loops allow pets at designated sites.
Sleep under the stars and bask in the natural splendor of Lackawanna County’s great outdoors. This region features mountainous backdrops, rushing streams, and lush meadows dotted with swaying flowers. Set up your camp within the sheltering embrace of tall forest trees, unfold your lawn chairs by a crackling fire, and unwind with Mother Nature during your stay.
The park’s campground offers various types of campsites for tents and trailers. There are 61 sites with electric hookups of 40-50 amps, modern centralized washhouses providing hot showers and restrooms, and a sanitary dump station. The camping season is from the second Friday in April until the third Sunday in October.
The centerpiece of the park, the 198-acre Lackawanna Lake is surrounded by picnic areas and multi-use trails winding through forest. Boating, camping, fishing, mountain biking, and swimming are popular recreation activities.
Hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bike riders share 15 miles of multi-use trails at Lackawanna State Park. There are an additional 3 miles of hiking-only trails. The trails loop through the park passing by the lake, through forests and fields, and by woodland streams.
They’ve got the Lackawanna State Park Swimming Pool available to campers for a tiny fee. The pool address is S Turnpike Street in Dalton.
The park is easily reached from I-81. Visitors should take Exit 199 and travel three miles west on PA 524.
Visitors coming via U.S. routes 6 and 11 should take PA 107 east about three miles to PA 407, then south.
