Frances Slocum State Park Campground

Frances Slocum State Park Campground is located in Frances Slocum State Park. It’s a gem for those looking to escape into nature. The campground offers a mix of tent and RV sites, with electric hookups available. While there are no water hookups directly at the sites, potable water is accessible nearby.

A 100-site campground, with 15 walk-in tent sites, and 85 tent or trailer sites (some accessible and some with electric hookups), is available from the second Friday in April through the third Sunday in October. Each site contains a picnic table and fire ring. Flush toilets, showers, drinking water, and a sanitary dump station are available. Some of the sites will let you Bring Fido!

The campground hosts sites for RVs and tents with amenities that include 30 and 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer hookup. Each campsite contains a picnic table and fire ring. It’s got 74 RV sites and 97 tent sites. Max RV length allowed is 35 feet.

There is a modern bathhouse with showers, flushable toilets, drinking water, and boat launch access. There’s also a large group tenting area that accommodates 40 tents.

One of the standout features here is the large wooded campsites that provide a good amount of privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. The bathhouses are well-maintained, and there’s a sanitary dump station for RVs. If you’re into hiking, you’ll love the trails that wind through the park, offering scenic views and a chance to spot local wildlife.

There are 85 tent or trailer sites, some are ADA accessible and some have electric hookups. The 15 walk-in tent sites offer additional privacy.

The park itself is a haven for outdoor activities. There’s a beautiful lake perfect for kayaking and canoeing, and you can rent boats if you didn’t bring your own. Fishing is also popular, so don’t forget your gear. For families, there’s a playground to keep the kids entertained and a pool where you can cool off on hot days. Just a heads-up, though: the pool has a small fee for campers, which some folks find a bit annoying.

“Very clean campground. Level spacious sites for tents and electric/sewer water hook-ups for RV/campers.. Playground on the lower loop. Hiking trails throughout. Great fishing, boating, kayak and canoe rentals. Park pool or swimming at a daily discounted rate for campers. Pool concession carries ice and other items. Lots of nearby homes offer firewood typically $4 a bundle. They have walk-in primitive tent sites as well as electric sites for tents. Assigned dog sites. Love going here!.”

“We stayed for a week in June. The campground was full and busy on the weekend, and the site was big, with a little wooded space around. sites are spaced out nicely and are of ample size. There is a campground boat launch that’s convenient for kayaks or canoes. The sites have electricity and water nearby. The bathhouse were nice and we really liked the lake and the pool.”
