Cochecton Pump House is the abandoned brick structure that locals Jin Zhang and Dave Lieber recently reimagined as an open-air gathering spot for live music and craft beer.
Listed for sale in March 2023! We’ll wait and see what happens – give a call to make sure they’re open! Maybe you’ll buy it!
They purchased the property in the summer of 2020 and transformed the remaining four brick walls into an epic stage for a now buzzing open-air gathering space. Watch out for pop-up events, screenings, exhibits, and performances, not to mention the occasional dance party framed by the ruinous beauty of the space.
Since 1879, the red brick pump station building has stood proud, tall and seemingly indestructible at the intersection of State Route 97 and County Route 116
The food is pretty great, including soft pretzels, sausage sandwiches and plates, Mexican corn dogs, and desserts.
“Visited the Pump House tonight. Awesome surroundings, so nice to be able to sit in nature, mosh and listen to a live band, even dogs are welcomed. Sitting inside the walls of the original Pump House, the building remains. Eclectic beautiful place. A gem in the mountains.”
