Wondering where to park when visiting Jim Thorpe? Believe us, you’re not the only one. This tiny fabulous town gets jammed on weekends and during special events. One way to get it parked is to arrive early in the day. Here are some others.
The main Carbon County Jim Thorpe Municipal Parking lot is located at 1 Susquehanna Street just north of the train station. The cost for automobiles is $8/day 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and $15/day 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Pricing may vary during events and festivals. The municipal lot also services the local courthouse, and some spots are reserved, so be sure to watch for signage designating visitor parking or indicating parking time limits. Parking is available for buses, campers and vehicles towing trailers in the lot for $15/day Monday-Friday and $30/day Saturday and Sunday. Pay at kiosks in the lot or via the Flowbird app. Pay-by-Text is also available: text the provided code to the designated number indicated on the parking sign. You will receive a text response containing a secure link: follow the instructions at the link to complete your payment.
The county parking lot near Josiah White Park at 41 Susquehanna Street, just south of the train station, also has some public parking places. Visit the Carbon County Parking Portal for more information.
