UJR Camp Harlam is nestled in the foothills of the magnificent Pocono Mountains on 300 beautiful acres. Each summer the camp is home to roughly 550 campers per session, with a staff of over 225.
Camp Harlam provides the finest in Jewish camping. Established in 1958, Camp Harlam has developed a strong tradition of success and excellence based on a highly skilled staff dedicated to the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional well-being of each child. It’s for children from 3rd grade thru 12th grade.
It’s a a vibrant, fun and caring camp community which enriches and strengthens Reform Jewish identity and values while cultivating lifelong friendships.
The Camp Harlam family consists of smaller communities within. Junior Camp qne Senior Camp, and the Gesher (Counselor in Training) Program. Junior and Senior Camps are further broken down into units based on a child’s school grade to create a more intimate and age-appropriate experience for our campers.
Harlam offers everything from outdoor adventures, to waterfront programs, to arts and sports and much more.
Camp Harlam’s leadership is dedicated to helping families afford our extraordinary summer experience in any way possible. In addition to partnerships with URJ synagogues and One Happy Camper (OHC) sponsors, Harlam provides very generous scholarship through the Mitch Perlmeter Scholarship Fund and other programs, including the Weidhorn program for families sending multiple children to camp and the Morris Fund allocated for campers who have lost a parent. Gifts from Harlam are made confidentially through an anonymous/needs-based process facilitated by the camp’s Financial Assistance Committee.
