New Spa Amenities at The Lodge at Woodloch Spa! They have announced the opening of a snow room, a Tyrolean bucket shower, and a co-ed Himalayan salt sauna. It’s all in an adults-only destination spa resort set on seventy-five acres in the beautiful Pocono Mountains.

The benefits of heating and cooling the body and alternating these phases have been well known for centuries. The heat calms and soothes, slowing internal organ activity. The cold, in contrast, stimulates and reinvigorates, increasing the activity. The sudden temperature change that occurs during this method combats stress and stimulates the body and mind.
All three of these amenities, brand new for 2022, have many health benefits, but when used together in a specific sequence the benefits are truly outstanding.
The Aqua Garden includes co-ed soaking pools with heated hydromassage water walls, and indoor pool especially designed for aqua classes, and outdoor horizon-edge whirlpool for year-round use, a co-ed Himalayan salt sauna, a Tyrolean bucket shower, and the snow room. The snow room is notable as the first snow room in the United States.
Co-ed Himalayan Salt Sauna
This sauna differs from the saunas in the men’s and women’s retreat because it includes a Himalayan Salt Wall. When heated, Himalayan salt releases negatively charged ions which serve to purify the circulating air as well as allow our bodies to reap health benefits including stress reduction, energy increases, and mood boosts at a biochemical level.
Tyrolean Bucket Shower
This is a cold water bucket shower. The cold water is released when a rope is pulled that is attached to a bucket that hangs overhead. This causes a temporary thermal shock that makes the body stronger. The benefits include strengthening the immune system, increasing metabolism, improving blood circulation, helping to regulate body temperature, keeping skin pure and glowing, and improving overall well-being and stress.
Snow Room
You won’t find anything like this anywhere else in the United States – our Snow Room is the very first! The Snow Room is a great alternative to the age-old Tyrolean tradition of the cold bucket shower, as it is a more gentle form of cooling. In the Snow Room, the compact dry snow and the crisp cold air allow for rapid and efficient cooling that is extraordinarily gentle, mild, and pleasurable.
