Dickens on the Delaware: You’re invited to ‘Fezziwig’s Party’ –an interactive performance/party by Farm Arts Collective at ‘Dickens on the Delaware’ Saturday, December 14th at 2 pm.
Join the Collective as characters come to life and the audience is invited to join in the festivities!
A long table is set – laden with turkey and other delicious foods. The Fezziwigs are hosting a Christmas party! (as seen in A Christmas Carol). 🎄
A host of characters from a wide range of Dickens’ books arrive one by one: Scrooge, Uriah Heap, Mrs. Havisham, Fagan, Mrs. Jellyby, Ghosts, a spiritualist named Clair St. Clair, and Dickins himself!
As the guests arrive, dances, songs, toasts, and arguments erupt throughout the party culminating in the arrival of Dickens with a stack of novels. 📚
Charles Dickens laments the state of humanity, the disparity, and the need to un-anesthetize or minds. (look up from those lit tablets supplicants—un-bow your neck and skull, de-glaze your eyes and read) Dickens suggests, reading will help us to feel an empathy and connection with our friends and neighbors and the stories we all have within us.
Retailers, galleries and restaurants highlight their Holiday goods and dazzle town visitors with their Holiday Spirit. 🎀
Shopkeepers and town folk will be dressed in Victorian garb, with shops, restaurants and public space decorated to recall the days of yore.
