Pennsylvania will once again host one of NASCAR’s premier events, with The Great American Getaway 400 presented by VISITPA.COM returning to Pocono Raceway on Sunday, June 22

Gov. Josh Shapiro announced Thursday that his administration is partnering with Pocono Raceway for the second year in a row as the race entitlement sponsor for the annual NASCAR Cup Series event. The 160-lap, 400-mile race will return as The Great American Getaway 400.

The NASCAR weekend at Pocono Raceway — which also includes a Craftsman Truck Series race Friday, June 20, and Xfinity Series race Saturday, June 21 — annually attracts fans from more than 50 states and 13 countries.

The race will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime Video, NASCAR’s new television partner, with additional national coverage on SiriusXM and MRN Radio. NASCAR’s global reach will put Pennsylvania in front of millions, with coverage extending to 195 countries in more than 29 languages.

Pocono Raceway, also known as ‘The Tricky Triangle,’ is family-owned and situated in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. In business for over 60 years, the Raceway hosts multiple, national motorsports events including the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events each year. The facility’s calendar also consists of over 300 events including Elements Music & Arts Festival and a wide range of entertainment events, car clubs and racing schools.

Pocono Raceway is recognized as the world’s first, privately-owned solar-powered sports facility. Their 25-acre, three-megawatt solar farm provides the energy needs of the Raceway, as well as, adds electricity to the local power grid.
