Camp Poyntelle

Camp Poyntelle has been a traditional co-ed overnight camp since 1947. About 250-300 campers, grades 2-11, come from all over the country and world for summers in a pluralistic Jewish community. Situated on roughly 460 acres, their program provides a well-rounded experience, the gem of which is undoubtedly their beautiful 70-acre private lake.

Their spring-fed lake is completely private and offers a wide array of exciting watersports: the AquaGlide aquapark, extensive sailing, canoeing, and kayaking instruction, along with fun small crafts such as pedal boats and paddleboards.

The lake’s inflatable park is connected for continuous play and boasts huge trampolines and a cloud pillow, giant see-saws, a jungle gym, a giant Tarzan swing, and an 18’ climbing wall.

Three powerboats pull the waterskiers. it’s offered to every camper at Poyntelle – multiple times each week. With certified instructors, great boats, and an unmatched lake. Many of Poyntelle’s campers excel in Wake Boarding as well, and there are frequent opportunities for them to test their skills and show off! There is always time for a thrill ride on the banana boats or 1-2 person tubes.

Performing Arts is a major part of the program and offers children the opportunity to be on stage, be goofy and silly, and have fun while performing. There are two stage productions, 2 talent shows, and a wide array of skit nights and music videos. Camp Poyntelle also has drama and improv classes as part of the regular daily program.

The Outdoor Adventure Program consists of a 40’ multi-dimensional climbing wall, a 500’ zipline, a vertical playpen and high ropes Course which includes the Indiana Jones Bridge Catwalk Log, Multivine, Burma Bridge, Teeter Totter, Sky Platforms, and the Leap of Faith. Additionally, there’s mountain biking and archery. This large program is designed to challenge campers with something new – quite possibly things they’ve never seen or tried before.

There are trips outside of camp, including Allentown’s Dorney Park, Lake George, Camelback Water Park, an overnight camp-out at Hershey Park, the Crayola Factory, and more. 11th graders will take a 1 day trip to Cornell University, Binghamton University, and The Ithaca Gorges, along with a 3-week trip to Israel.
