The Paupack School: When was the last time YOU slept in school… and didn’t get in trouble? This is the original Paupack School, built in 1925, listed on the National Historic Register in 2016, and now reimagined into a unique getaway experience.
The first loft-style living space, Mrs. Kroll’s Classroom, is now available. It’s perfect for a couple or solo traveler. Original details remain throughout the unique and eclectic Mrs. Kroll’s Classroom. It’s a 900+ sq ft light-filled room with 14’ high ceilings, slate chalkboards, flooring, doors, trim, and moldings. Period correct lighting has been salvaged locally and re-installed, along with other locally sourced artifacts, maps, and antiques.
Located in beautiful Paupack, just a short walk to Lake Wallenpaupack. There is a 14’ canoe moored on Lower Lake of Promised Land State Park for your use during your visit.
The Paupack School is surrounded by outdoor activities. You’re anywhere between walking distance and a 30 minute drive from swimming, hiking, mountain biking, waterfalls, golf, skiing, antiquing, hunting, and more. Fishing is year-round on Lake Wallenpaupack or numerous nearby lakes, rivers, and streams — including the Lackawaxen with its excellent fly fishing opportunities.
Ray, your host, also rents The 1924 Bungalow and The 1925 Cottage, both just a short walk to the lake.
