Hawley Diner is housed in a 1953 Mountain View diner. There’s a reason why this has been the busiest place in town on Sunday morning since then. “Home-style cooking” and “the best breakfast in the Poconos” have put this classic American joint on the map since the 1960s. Breakfast includes omelets, french toast, waffles, eggs any style with home fries, bacon, sausage, scrapple, or pork roll, and daily breakfast specials.
Hamburgers, egg sandwiches, grilled cheese, and “Tasty Triple Decker” club sandwiches are among the lunch offerings, along with a salad bar. Prices are ridiculously low. Look for Polish additions such as kielbasi on the breakfast menu and a special platter of kielbasi, stuffed cabbage, haluski, and pierogies.
Depending on the day of the week, dinner might include roast pork with apple stuffing, spaghetti and meatballs, or the every diner staple of fresh-baked haddock with tartar sauce, two vegetables, and a roll.
Stop in for good coffee, comfort food, and a sweet slice of Americana.
