Naturfi offers outdoor hikes, snowshoeing, mountain biking, trail hikes, fishing, yoga, and meditation.

If you can walk, you can snowshoe. You just strap the snowshoes to your own waterproof boots and you’re off. Just be sure to bring some warm, waterproof boots. They also recommend waterproof snow pants, a warm jacket, a hat, and warm gloves.

“Snowshoeing is just like you’re walking, it’s a little more intense because you are going over the snow. You actually burn double the calories as you would with walking, but if you could walk, you can snowshoe.”

They’ll meet you with equipment, maps, and instructions.

If you’d like to add snowshoeing to your overnight stay at Shawnee Inn, ask one of their team members to reserve your spot. This is a premium recreational activity so there is a small fee for the shoe rentals, and an advanced 24-hour booking is strongly recommended.

Not an overnight guest at Shawnee? That’s alright, snowshoeing is open to anyone. Snowshoeing is offered every Thursday and Saturday at 10am, 11am and noon, as long as there is snow on the ground. When using the online booking window, select a Thursday or Saturday from the calendar, and then the category “Seasonal”. You can also give them a call at 1-800-SHAWNEE, and they’ll book the activity for you right over the phone.
