The Lacawac Writing Retreats take place in 2023 in June, July, and November. It’s open to both individuals and groups.
Writing retreats for academics, Ph.D. students, and other professionals offer you the possibility to concentrate on thinking, reading, and writing in a sustained way, recharge your battery, and gain new inspiration. Let original new ideas be born, maybe even ground-breaking ideas for new projects, and your writing flow. Ideal for spending (part of) your sabbatical, writing research proposals, working on a book, conference papers, articles, chapters, inaugural lectures, educational programs, working on joint projects, etc. For Ph.D. students, it is a good opportunity to give a boost to your dissertation in a short period of time. Rediscover that writing a Ph.D. thesis can progress smoothly and is fun.
You’ll have a comfortable, private rustic room in the Historic Watres Lodge or the Ice House Cottage with sheets and towels, Wi-Fi, various working station locations, and access to 550 acres of Lacawac’s forests, more than 9 miles of hiking trails, and one of the southernmost, protected glacial lakes in the United States: Lake Lacawac.
Academics, Ph.D. students, and other professionals can register for one week of their choosing, or for both weeks.
Dates are June 4-17, July 2-15, and November 5-11. The cost of the writing retreat is $250 for one week and $450 for two weeks. Full payment is due at the time of registering. Lacawac accepts personal checks made out to Lacawac Sanctuary or credit card payments.
